Fun for all at Primary School gala
MORE THAN 200 children took part in the annual Hendy Mazda Primary Schools Gala hosted by Winchester City Penguins Swimming Club at River Park Leisure Centre.
With entrants from 21 primary schools in the Winchester area, the swimmers took part in individual 25m races for Year 4s and boys' and girls' mixed stroke and freestyle relays.
Ridgemede Primary school emerged triumphant in both the boys mixed stroke and freestyle relays.
Not to be outdone, the girls from Princes' Mead Primary School were also double winners in the mixed stroke and freestyle relays.
The Individual 25m sprint races for Year 4 children were won by Ben Atwell (Twyford St Mary School) and Maya Garside (St Swithun's).
In the invitational fun relay for schools not making the finals, the girls relay was won by Sparsholt Primary School and the boys by Princes Mead.
