BASINGSTOKE Town produced a good first-half performance to beat Salisbury City 2-1 in a pre-season friendly fixture played at the Camrose on Saturday.
New signing James Faulkner opened the scoring after eight minutes, firing home confidently from 10 yards out, while triallist Tom Williamson doubled the lead shortly after, his shot deflecting off a Salisbury defender before finding the back of the net.
The game tailed off somewhat in the second period but Salisbury midfielder Elliott Osbourne-Rickets reduced the deficit just after the hour mark, blasting home a fine shot from 25 yards.
