Do you know who carried out attack?

Sir.-I was sickened to read about the attack on three ponies (Monday Gazette, June 30).

The police want to talk to some youths going past the Sainsbury's depot on June 19.

I now would like to appeal to all youths in the town - if you do know these individuals, tell the police.

It is important to disassociate them from all the good other youths do in this town.

I appeal to the parents of youngsters and ask "do you know what your child was doing that evening".

If your child was responsible, you have a duty to that child to take them to the police - doing this will teach them that this is not acceptable in our society and they should get punished for it.

To all the schoolchildren - do you know who they were? Have they told you it was them by bragging about it in school?

If so, then tell your teachers or get your parents to ring the police and give them a name.

Ninety-nine per cent of the youth in this town are good kids and work hard. It is just this few that need to be stopped.

-George Potten, Dryden Close, Basingstoke.
