Bramley
FLORAL society: The 30th anniversary was celebrated in style on July 4, when around 75 members and supporters met at Bramley Village Hall.
Chairman Sibyl Wood gave a warm welcome, and Carole Dorward demonstrated on the theme "Take the Rough with the Smooth", explaining that this was for the contrast of textures she would use.
She first gave a birthday greeting with a huge cocktail glass filled with tall stems and dark red roses. Smooth silver bowls, black metal and a charred branch were her contrasting containers with a variety of greenery, sunflowers, roses, gladioli and gerberas.
Ilene Lomas gave the vote of thanks. A buffet supper followed and a special cake was cut by Doreen Tosswill, one of the founder members of the Bramley and Romans Floral Society.
BRAMLEY Lunch Club: Will meet on August 6, at 11.30am, in the village hall.
