Rooksdown

ROOKSDOWN summer fayre: This was a great success. There was a wide range of activities, the weather was good and everyone I spoke to had a great time, so well done to all those involved with organising it.

STORYTIME in Rooksdown: Diana, from Hampshire Library Service, will be bringing Storytime for under-fives to the Mill Road Green, in Rooksdown, on Monday, from 2.30pm to 3.30pm.

The storytime hour will include stories and activities to introduce young children to the joys of reading and listening.

Children should always be accompanied by adults.

PLAYSCHEMES: For those aged from five to 15, Basingstoke Play Ltd will be running an open-access playscheme in Rooksdown, on August 4, 5, 7 and 8, from 2pm to 4pm.

Activities will include arts and crafts, sports, games and creative play.

The cost will be 50p per child, per day. Spaces are limited.

Basingstoke Play is also running a free mobile playscheme on Tuesday, September 2, from 11am to 1pm, for children aged five to 15 years (children under five can attend but must be accompanied by an adult).

Both playschemes will be held at Mill Road Green and, in both cases, the staff can only be responsible for children while they are at the scheme and during the hours stated.

For further information, please contact Victoria Robinson by calling 01256 844847.
