COUNTRYSIDE Day for Schools at Farleigh Wallop: Children from Cliddesden school will be enjoying a tour of Portsmouth Estates today, providing a day to explore and enjoy the countryside while studying core elements of the curriculum - science, geography, history and citizenship.

I understand that, while the invitation was extended to all schools in the area, only Cliddesden pupils are attending this annual event.

ELLISFIELD Ladies Club: If you would like to join the visit to Hampton Court Flower Festival on Friday, July 11, contact Joanne on 01256 381300 or Nicky on 01256 381313 as soon as possible.

Also, Hannah and I are organising a trip to an open-air jazz concert - Ellington@Wellington - on Saturday, July 26.

Gates open at 4.30pm and tickets cost £18, children £5.

You can take a picnic and drinks etc, and there will be a hog roast and bar. The evening will end with a firework display.

Call me, or Hannah, on 01256 381863, to book tickets.

More details can be found at www.ellingtonatwellington.co.uk.

CIDER celebration: The Fox Inn has a special menu featuring dishes using Hampshire cider and perry all this week as part of Hampshire Cider Festival.

This culminates with cider tasting, a barbecue, apple bobbing, children's activities, Hampshire produce stalls and music from The Plonkers band on Sunday, from noon to 9pm.
