Disc duplicator makes a big impression at debut

THE UK debut of a professional CD/DVD disc duplicator has taken place at Oakley Hall.

Epson's Discproducer PP-100 was officially launched by Fortuna Power Systems, based at Brickells Business Court, in Oakley.

Tina Hart, from Fortuna, said that the innovative duplicator can burn and print up to 100 customised CDs and DVDs in a single batch.

The PP-100 is also able to print photo-quality images directly on to discs, making an eye-catching impression, useful for producing catalogues and marketing material that is sent out on disc.

Mrs Hart said she was delighted with the event as all of the invited companies and organisations that attended made firm orders, worth thousands of pounds, to buy the PP-100, including the Ministry of Defence, police forces, publishers and film archivists.

Mrs Hart said the launch gave the company an opportunity to offer hands-on, tailor-made demonstrations.

"We wanted them to understand how it would help their businesses and, without exception, everybody said the PP-100 was fantastic and that they'd be buying it."

Fortuna Power Systems was recently appointed an Epson specialist reseller after being approached by the corporation's Japanese development team two years ago.

"They came to us and we had an open and frank discussion about the possibility of producing a disc publisher duplicator printer, because this was a totally new market for them," said Mrs Hart.

"In effect, we gave them a wish-list and, when it came to market in the UK, we were appointed a specialist and have been working closely with them ever since."
