P&O to ban smoking inside three ships

CRUISE operator P&O is to ban smoking inside half of its Southamptonbased ships from October.

Passengers on its two family-friendly ships Oceana and Ventura, pictured above, and the adult-only Artemis will not be able to light up in any inside space. However there will be allocated smoking on deck, and passengers will be able to smoke on their cabin balconies.

P&O cruise manager Nigel Esdale said: "This is another step towards an even healthier holiday experience."

Earlier this year rival Royal Caribbean International, which operates the world's largest cruise ship, Independence of the Seas, from Southampton, changed its on-board smoking policy to stop passengers lighting up in cabins, although not on balconies.

Regent Seven Seas Cruises is outlawing smoking in all cabins and balconies from the end of the year.

Smoking should be banned in ALL shared public space.

I.e. any structure of any description that is bordered by any type of wall.

Non-smokers should not have to breath in second hand smoke or have their hair and clothing kippered ANYWHERE in public

Smokers need to be restricted to smoking in wide open public spaces or inside their own homes or their properties.

Look out, Britain. Let this campaign to turn smokers into lepers continue, and it'll be drinkers next, and who knows what after that? Liberty is at risk

Don't forget fat people, thin people, people who spend too much time at the gym, chavs, goths, skaters, cyclists, car drivers, pro-Lowe, anti-Lowe, gamblers, union members, liberals, tories, immigrants, council workers, old people, young people, photographers, dog owners, race-for-lifers, single parents, the unemployed, Muslims, Jews, Christians and atheists... Let's stamp it all out and save our country from this moral decline!

Nah.

Just smokers.

On second thoughts, throw in alchoholics with their Jeykl and Hyde personalities and nasty violent behaviour.

Banning smokers and boozers would halve the Country's health care costs so everyone else could then get a free cruise.

On third thoughts, add silly-list- makers to public banning.

Good plan... And don't forget patronising, generalising, illiterate killjoys and their narcissistic self-righteousness ;)

P & O are being very underhanded with this. Changing the terms well after booking.

Also I would like to point out that smokers are not lepers or 2nd class citizens either. Just the same as the rest who probably have some other habits that others do not like.

I hate people that eat curry and smell.
