Lee Evans - back in Basingstoke on July 22

LEE Evans, one of Britain's best-loved stars of stage, screen and stand-up, will return to The Anvil on Tuesday July 22 at 8pm.

Now established as one of Britain's well loved and biggest comedy stars, ex-boxer Lee has captured audiences' and critics' imagination with his irrepressible physicality and disarming charm.

After leaving art school, he spent the next six years touring clubs all across the British Isles and, eventually, on what became the alternative comedy circuit, gaining a regular weekly spot at London's famous Comedy Store.

Like a lot of new established comics, his break came in 1993 when Lee took the Edinburgh Festival by storm by winning the Perrier Award. In the same year he achieved a lifelong ambition by performing and selling out for two nights at The London Palladium.

He will tour Britain again in autumn 2008 - but don't miss out on this opportunity to catch him now.

This date will sell out quickly, so book now at the box office on 01256 844244 or online at www.anvilarts.org.uk
