| REVIEW: Live music at Alton Community Centre | | 1:43pm Friday 26th September 2008 | | I THINK these mixed genre nights are a great idea, but attendance does vary quite dramatically. Maybe some types of music go better with others? |
REVIEW: Neil Duncan at the Reading Festival 10:25am Tue 26 Aug 08 ATTENDANCE at one previous festival does not make me a veteran, but I headed to Reading this year, not as a festival-virgin, but with certain realistic expectations and knowledge about the lie of the land. |
REVIEW: Basingstoke Live Fringe, Thursday, Light Lounge 8:48am Fri 18 Jul 08 ANOTHER opportunity to sample the acts playing on one of the main stages at the weekend took place in the Light Lounge, kicking off with Johnny Virgo, a very versatile solo artist who featured on the recent 100% Reading double CD. |
REVIEW: Live music, Tap'n'Spile, Newbury 5:06pm Wed 9 Jul 08 IT WAS a wet miserable evening to be winding along the A339 to Newbury, but I was just one of a number of Basingstokies looking to check out the talent in a neighbouring town. |
REVIEW: Live music at The Star, Guildford 10:30am Wed 11 Jun 08 WITH two of the billed bands having recently played Basingstoke, I felt duty bound to head for The Star in Guildford to check out whether they really were as good as I originally thought. There was a rather meagre crowd, unusual for a Saturday night, but those of us who were there anticipated having a great time. |
REVIEW: Live music at The Light Lounge 9:32am Mon 2 Jun 08 THE Light Lounge was even more packed than usual when I arrived, on account of this being something of an experimental 'all ages' show. The bulk of the younger clientele were there to see the first band up, coming from Tadley and called Mundane Mondays. |
