Helping Hand
Age Concern Basingstoke
AS PART of our information and advice service, Age Concern organises several events a year to help local over-50s find out about their rights and the services and support available to them.
In April and October, we hold information days, with other occasional, smaller, themed events during the year.
Our next information event, "Planning for the Future", is on Wednesday, July 16, at Church Cottage, Basingstoke, between 10.30am and 1pm.
Age Concern will be joined by Lamb Brooks solicitors, Keep Able equipment, a local funeral director, tax help for older people and Testway Housing (which supplies monitoring equipment), who will all be offering information and advice about how they can help.
Even if you don't have a specific enquiry at the moment, why not pop in and pick up some leaflets for future reference?
Refreshments are available from Age Concern's Cafe as usual, but please note that there is no public parking at Church Cottage.
We are also looking forward to the "Summer Time Music Hall" event at The Anvil on Sunday, July 27. This is a very enjoyable evening out and a key fundraising event for Age Concern.
After two sell-out years at The Haymarket, we took the show to The Anvil in 2007, and were delighted to fill this much larger venue.
Tickets are available from The Anvil box office on 01256 844244, with a discount for groups of 20 or more.
For information on any of our local services or events, call 01256 423874 or visit our office at The Orchard, White Hart Lane, Basingstoke, between 9am and 1pm.
